ConsumerReports’ detailed reliability page for the A4 is a rainbow of yellows and reds in the engine section, with complaints ranging from somewhat benign-sounding

12March 2009 – DSG Dilemmas. Nudging 4000 miles now in the ludicrously over-specced Audi TT TDi and the chunky little grey-bomb is feeling nicely run-in. Initially, the power delivery felt too

Thisengine eventually found its way in a lot of the Group's cars, from the Audi A3, which is about to get an Allstreet crossover version, the VW Golf, to the Audi A4, A6, the Škoda Octavia, the SEAT Leon and many others. Unlike the 1.9 TDI, the 2.0 TDI is plagued with a laundry list of potential problems, including the oil pump, the injectors,
Boththe MKVI and MKVII have diesel particulate filters (DPF) some folks have MKVI with well over 200k on the original equipment and no issues. any Check engine light has to be identified and corrected as soon as possible. prices for rebuild DPFs have come down quite a bit, for those that do have issues and need to be replaced.
Oilconsumption settled down at 40k miles too. 70k miles in total, no other issue. 2nd company car: Passat CC 2.0 TDi 140 CR: no problem, 30k miles now and only had to top up the oil once before
Its important to note that the 2.5 TDI R5 engine has nothing to do with the famed V6. This is a successful engine that is tough to criticize. This engine is the 2.5-liter 5-cylinder inline turbo diesel with pump injection. Its existence began in 1989. Audi created and developed the engine, the first Turbocharged Direct Injection engine in Ifbadly worn, the hex shaft is unable to turn the oil pump thus starving the engine of oil. My 2009 plate 2.0 CR-TDI 170 DSG w/ engine code CBBB has covered 74k miles under long life servicing with an additional oil change halfway though the long life schedule for added peace of mind. I just got my car back from the Dealers, it cost around
0Post (s) 2.0 TDi Poor starting when hot – 13-10-2009, 08:38 AM. I have a manual 2004 2.0 TDI 140 (BKD) with 76K which I've had a few years and over the last 6 months have noticed that when doing a hot start the engine oftern fails to start first time and when it does is increadibly lumpy - feels like the engine is going to shake itself
The2.0 TDI engine was a replacement for the popular and acclaimed 1.9 TDI engine. And although much more contemporary than its predecessor, the general opinion is that it is much less durable. Material savings and technical errors - are the main reasons for most of the problems faced by 2.0 TDI engines.
7 1.6 TDI Engine. Installed on many Volkswagen Audi (VAG) models since 2009. The most common versions are 90 and 105 hp, and since 2015 – 110 and 120 hp. Small volume, economical consumption, high torque power and the absence of prominent problems are the characteristics of the 1.6 TDI engine, which makes it popular in the secondary market.
24hydraulic lifters later, a new tensioner and new injector seals and i've got my car back. It's low in power throughout the entire rev range. The 2.5 V6 TDi engine isn't the quietest engine, but there's a continuous low frequency grinding sound when it is first started up from cold till it warms up or a blip of the throttle soon gets rid of it. TheMost Common VW / AUDI 1.2 TDI (ANY) Engine Problems. Volkswagen 1.2 TDI ANY 3-cylinder turbo diesel engines were assembled from 1999 to 2015 and installed in the most compact models, such as Lupo, Polo, Fabia, Roomster or Audi A2. It depends on if you get the 170bhp or 140bhp spec. Generally speaking the 140bhp have fewer problem, had mine 9 months with no real engine problems. The 170bhp are known to have issues with the DPF filter though. D. Whenyou have those you can start taking it apart, I have numbered the picture from 1 to 4 you take them off in that order. 1) Undo the bolt and push the pipe away from the EGR valve and Anti shudder valve so you have better access. 2) Undo the 2 bolts on the EGR cooler pipe. pBMYlv.
